This week I dug back to the title track from my 2008 album with producer Rel as The Ritz, “The Night of Day.” I combined the song with “The River Lethe” from the fantastic new ep from cars & trains, “We Are All Storms.” The result is something weird and wonderful.

I found myself deeply affected by the aftermath of last week’s storm and it’s implications for our future and was inspired to write about what was going on in America. These two songs reflect those ruminations. They will both still be included on my upcoming album “Progress, We Exalt Thee” and are a part of my ongoing series 52 Song Pick Up, in which I have been releasing a new song every week in 2012, but I decided to release them now and charge for their download, for a change, in the hope of helping the situation in New Jersey.

So I have decided to hold off on releasing this week’s song as I will be releasing it together with next week’s song early next week, as in monday or tuesday. It will be clearer why I’m doing this once they are released. And it will be well worth the wait. Be excited. I am.
