Day 165: David Foster - Love Theme from St. Elmo’s Fire

This instrumental theme from the soundtrack to the 1985 film St. Elmo’s Firewas a #15 hit in the US.  It was also included on Foster’s self-titled second solo album in 1986.  Most of the record was instrumental, and Foster won a Juno award for “Instrumental Artist of the Year” in 1986.  The album is co-produced by Humberto Gatica, who would become a frequent collaborator with Foster from the late 80s through the present day.  The sax solo was done by David Boruff, who has also contributed to albums by Gino Vanelli, The Kazu Matsui Project and Phillip Bailey.
